Settled in 1799, the Village of Middlefield has remained the center of activity for the eastern half of Geauga County.

Middlefield is the center of the fourth largest Amish settlement in the world, where simple farm life contrasts with modern ideals. The slogan “Where Industry meets Agriculture” describes Middlefield’s diversity; it also expresses Middlefield’s strength.
