Geauga History Around the County
Enjoy “Geauga History Around the County” when Bainbridge Historical Society. Chesterland Historical Foundation, and South Newbury Union Chapel National Register Historic Site team up to participate in Ohio Open Doors. Admission to all Ohio Open Doors events is free.
Special activities will take place at Bainbridge Historical Society’s Bissell-Tucek House Museum on September 12 from noon-4:00 p.m., at Chesterland Historical Foundation’s Village on September 19 from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and at South Newbury Union Chapel National Register Historic Site on September 19 from 1:00-4:00 p.m.
Chesterland’s Historical Village will feature “A Day in a One-Room Schoolhouse” on Saturday, September 19, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the village at 7698 Mayfield Rd. Chesterland. Visitors will experience what it was like to attend a one room school around 1900. What lessons were taught, what games were played, did you have recess? Learn what teachers needed to be able to do to teach and some history of early education in Chester Township.
